Attended two days of technical talks on 15th and 16th November, on paints at the ICT venue at Mumbai organised by Surface Coating Society. Came to know many things and have to read further.

1. small particle size paint binders create glossy finish, keeping other things common, as they enter pores of concrete
2. Corners of pigments cannot be covered easily by additives and hence they are the places where connection take place and agglomeration takes place
3. Good bacteria is present all over our body and they protect us. Like they can protect our scalp, protect our guts
4. Testing of paints for longevity, there are new methods, even pyrolysis GCMS of uv treated paints is one such
5. contact angle of paint films can easily be done and can yield good comparison of paint films
6. not to panic if there is skin formation, sagging, or any other paint defects, try to understand what is happening at the molecular formula
